Revelation 7 serves as an important pause between the opening of the sixth and seventh seals. Before God's end-time judgments intensify, four angels are commanded to hold back the "four winds" of destruction until God's servants are sealed. This sealing represents God's ownership, protection, and the presence of His Holy Spirit in His people. Drawing from passages such as Ezekiel 9, Ephesians 1, and Revelation 9, the study showed that God identifies and preserves those who remain faithful to Him during a time of unprecedented global upheaval.

The chapter then introduces the 144,000 who are sealed from the tribes of Israel. While the tribal listing contains unique features—including the absence of Dan and the inclusion of both Joseph and Manasseh—the study emphasized the United Church of God's understanding that these individuals represent spiritual Israel: faithful, converted Christians sealed by God's Spirit. Revelation 14 further identifies them as redeemed followers of Christ who stand with the Lamb and ultimately participate in the First Resurrection.

The second major group described in the chapter is the "great multitude which no one could number." Unlike the 144,000, this vast assembly comes from every nation, tribe, people, and language. Having come through the Great Tribulation, they stand before God's throne clothed in white robes and carrying palm branches, symbols of victory, joy, and salvation. Their experience fulfills the promises found in Isaiah 49, where God promises to shepherd, protect, and comfort His people.

The study concluded by contrasting these two groups. The 144,000 are presented as sealed members of spiritual Israel who receive God's Spirit and are part of the First Resurrection. The great multitude consists of people converted during the Tribulation who are protected by God, survive into Christ's millennial reign, and enter the Millennium as physical human beings. Together, these groups demonstrate God's faithfulness to preserve, protect, and ultimately redeem those who respond to His calling, even during the most challenging period of human history.

The central message of Revelation 7 is one of hope: before judgment falls, God knows those who are His, seals them with His Spirit, and provides protection and salvation according to His perfect plan.
