Scripture shows that true love for God is expressed through keeping His commandments, loving His people, and holding onto faith with endurance. Revelation 2:5 outlines the path back:
Remember what our first love felt like—eagerness for God’s Word, heartfelt prayer, fellowship, and joy.
Repent for neglecting our relationship with God.
Do the first works again—spending time in prayer, studying Scripture, fellowshipping with God’s people, and actively serving others.
Like any relationship, love fades without communication and time together. When we renew our devotion to God, He promises to respond with mercy, restoration, and a renewed heart and spirit.
The sermon concludes with a call to actively love God and one another, resisting the pressures of the world that erode love. By returning wholeheartedly to God, we allow Him to transform us, restore our joy, and rekindle the genuine love that characterizes true disciples of Christ.
