On the Feast of Trumpets 2025, Daniel Deininger reminded God’s people of the prophetic meaning behind this appointed time, showing how it connects both to past events in Israel’s history and to the climactic fulfillment still ahead.

The Feast of Trumpets, commanded in Leviticus 23 and Numbers 29, was marked by the blowing of the shofar — signaling worship, assembly, warning, kingship, and war. Throughout Scripture, trumpets were used to call God’s people together, prepare them for battle, announce the coronation of kings, and mark holy convocations. These physical events foreshadow greater spiritual realities.

Looking ahead, the Feast of Trumpets pictures the return of Jesus Christ, the resurrection of the dead in Christ, and the transformation of the saints at the last trumpet (1 Corinthians 15; 1 Thessalonians 4). It heralds the coronation of Christ as King of kings and Lord of lords, and the establishment of the Kingdom of God on earth. It also signals a time of great tribulation and judgment, as shown in Revelation’s seven trumpet blasts, culminating in the announcement: “The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ” (Revelation 11:15).

Though this day portrays bitter trials and the final conflict of mankind, it also reveals God’s victory and the birth of His spiritual family. It promises the end of human warfare, the rebuilding of a ruined world, and the dawning of permanent peace under Christ’s reign.

The Feast of Trumpets is more than a historical observance; it is a divine wake-up call. God’s people are called to vigilance, repentance, and faithfulness — to live as spiritual watchmen, proclaiming the gospel and preparing for the return of Christ. For believers, it is both a sobering reminder of judgment and a joyful promise of resurrection, reunion with loved ones, and eternal life in God’s Kingdom.
